Neuromuscular Therapy

PROTOCOL OF NEUROMUSCULASKELETAL THERAPY - focuses on the augmentation of different nociceptive inputs and behavior, based on time period of 24 weeks of support(including patient education and active behavior- preventing therapist dependence), intensive sessions until week 8, flexibility due patient's needs!

 

Treatments include:

  1. Deep Tissue Therapy - produce a nociceptive input through the touch of skin activating the central processing for personal output that will add on the history taking of the therapist, physical examination and assessment. The idea is to stimulate the mechanism of pain on that individual for better formulation of a hypothesis with a participation and building a positive learning process for the relation patient-therapist once the pathobiological process is established, the tissue healing process are important for the revalidation of movement. “Salvo, SUSAN G. et al,: Massage Therapy’ Principles and Practice’, Ed.2.   2. Dry Needling ( if Trigger Point not released manually) - Invasive inactivation of TrPs which were resistant to manual therapy for facilitate self stretching. Needling deforms the muscle fiber and may induce a local twitch response by activation of the nociceptive receptor by means of a spinal cord reflex. “Dommerholt, JAN; Gerwin, ROBERT.   3. Craniosacral Therapy - Touch on bones of the head and sacrum which facilitate the movement of the cerebrospinal fluid which lubricate our nervous system. Modality also called the “Breath of light” ! Can help who suffer from fibromyalgia.
     

  4. Lymph Drainage Therapy - Increases the lymph circulation(defense cells) therefore stimulating the immune system and reducing edema. This modality utilizes very light pressure! helps migraine problems!
     

  5. Eastern Modality - Shiatsu Zen Touch, Hot Stone, Yoga, and more.
